The Solent is a sailor’s paradise. This narrow strait between the Isle of Wight and the English mainland boasts a plethora of stunning destinations
 

Cowes, located on the Isle of Wight, is the perfect place to start your Solent sailing adventure. This bustling town is renowned for its world-class sailing events, including the Cowes Week Regatta. Don’t miss the chance to see the Royal Yacht Squadron building, one of the most exclusive yacht clubs in the world.
 

From Cowes, sail to Yarmouth, a charming town on the western coast of the Isle of Wight. This historic town boasts an array of restaurants and pubs, offering a great spot for a lunch break. After lunch, head to the Yarmouth Pier, an iconic landmark with stunning views of the Solent.
 

Next, make your way to the New Forest. The new Forest is a beautiful national park that is home to wild horses, ponies, and deer. The Beaulieu River, which runs through the park, is a tranquil estuary that provides a peaceful spot for sailing. There are many great restaurants and bars to explore. Alternatively you may wish to stop for a picnic on one of the many riverbanks.
 

Portsmouth, is located on the mainland. It is a historic city with very interesting naval harbour and a rich maritime heritage. Portsmouth is also the home of the two UK aircraft carriers.  There is the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, home to the HMS Victory and the Mary Rose Museum, which provides a fascinating insight into the city’s naval history.
 

The Solent is also home to various other beautiful harbours and marinas, such as the Hamble River. Hamble is lined with stunning waterfront restaurants and bars. These vibrant communities provide a great place to dock and meet fellow sailors.
